How we will work
What we do
COUNTERLINE (registered nonprofit) is developing a proactive, professional, fact-based response to antisemitism and hatred of Jews.
We will find content and claims that need checking, verify them against reliable sources, prepare responses and explanations, and publish them where the hate appears.
We are now building the professional and digital infrastructure that will put this work into action.
Your support will help us build that infrastructure and launch campaigns.
The five areas of work
1. Finding and reviewing antisemitic content
Identifying antisemitic content, stereotypes and conspiracy theories, and reviewing them against reliable sources. Our aim is to recognize expressions of hate, understand the context in which they appear and base our response on verifiable information.
2. Fact-based response
Preparing responses and explanations grounded in facts and reliable sources, to be published where we choose to respond. The response is meant to refute false claims, supply missing information and give the public tools to understand the content.
3. Confronting the delegitimization of Israel
Examining claims and messages that deny the legitimacy of the State of Israel, and responding with facts, sources and historical context. This work will distinguish delegitimization from legitimate criticism of Israeli government policy.
4. Campaigns and outreach
Planning and running focused campaigns in Hebrew and English to bring our responses to wide audiences in Israel and worldwide. Through digital content and suitable media channels, we will make reliable information accessible and confront antisemitic messages in public and online.
5. Knowledge base and sources
Building an accessible collection of reliable sources, data and explanations for the public, volunteers and partners. It will serve as the basis for checking claims, preparing responses and developing well-informed content.
What do we aim to achieve?
We aim to widen access to reliable information, provide fact-based answers to antisemitic claims and help the public recognize and understand expressions of hate.
Through accessible content and focused campaigns, we will reach new audiences and strengthen the ability to confront antisemitism in public and online.
Our goal is not only to identify hate, but to answer it clearly, responsibly and with facts.
Method
The principles behind every response
| Source checks | Factual claims will be checked against primary sources wherever possible, and against additional reliable sources when needed. |
|---|---|
| Distinguishing fact from interpretation | We will make clear what rests on verified information, what is reporting and what is interpretation or opinion. |
| Transparency and verifiability | We will link to the sources behind each response so the public can check the information themselves. |
| Correcting errors | If a material error is found in something we published, we will correct it openly and state what was corrected. |
| Responsible publishing | We will not spread incitement. When antisemitic content must be shown to explain or refute it, we will do so in clear context and only as far as needed. |
| Content, not people | We address claims and content, and we will not expose private individuals' personal details, including home address, workplace or information about their families. |
| Acting openly | We will act in COUNTERLINE's name and under our own identity. We will not run fake accounts or encourage harassment or personal attacks. |
