A Strong Line Against Antisemitism
About us
COUNTERLINE (Kav Neged, registered nonprofit) is an Israeli organization working to provide a clear, fact-based and determined response to antisemitism, hatred of Jews and anti-Jewish propaganda.
We believe that the spread of hate, distortion of facts and delegitimization of Israel call for more than documentation. They call for a proactive response: presenting facts, refuting false claims, making reliable information accessible and shaping public debate.
Our aim is to promote public debate grounded in facts, responsibility and the distinction between legitimate criticism and antisemitism.
Why COUNTERLINE?
Antisemitism is not confined to the past. It also appears in public and online discourse, sometimes openly and sometimes through imagery, stereotypes, conspiracy theories and collective accusations against Jews.
When false claims spread unanswered, they can shape the conversation, deepen prejudice and normalize hate.
COUNTERLINE was created to respond actively to this reality — through fact-based communication, accessible content and responsible public action.
What do we set out to do?
Answer hate with facts
Develop and share content that refutes antisemitic claims, exposes distortions and provides factual and historical context.
Influence the online conversation
Promote messages, content and campaigns designed to confront expressions of antisemitism online and to reach audiences in Israel and worldwide.
Tell criticism from antisemitism
We recognize that criticism of Israeli government policy is legitimate. At the same time, expressions that target Jews as a group, use antisemitic imagery or deny Jews the right to equality and safety must be identified and confronted.
Promote responsible public debate
Work to promote debate based on reliable information, a distinction between facts and claims, and a clear stand against hate and incitement.
The work will develop step by step, in line with the organization's goals, its resources and the partnerships built along the way.
The principles that guide us
- Accuracy — relying on facts and sources that can be checked.
- Responsibility — presenting information in context and not spreading unsupported claims.
- Distinction — confronting antisemitism without labelling every criticism of Israel as antisemitic.
- A response, not incitement — we criticize claims, messages and content, not the identity of the people expressing them.
- Transparency — acting responsibly, in line with the organization's goals and the law.
